  • If your press tool is equipped with a battery of at least 1.3 ampere, you can install BONFIX press fittings. For BONFIX press fittings of Stainless Steel and steel-galvanised BONFIX press fittings, you will need an M-profile clamping jaw for your press tool. Can I press Wicu pipe?

  • If the Wicu pipe material complies with EN 1057 and minimum wall thicknesses as advised by BONFIX, this pipe can be pressed without a support sleeve. Minimal wall thicknesses can be found in the technical documentation with PRESS fittings, page 49.

Are copper and carbon steel pipes able to be combined?

  • BONFIX recommends using a uniform type of fitting / pipe per closed network. If Copper and Carbon Steel pipes / fittings are combined, the installer must be able to guarantee that moisture cannot affect the system’s exterior, in any manner. If moisture is permitted to reach the outside surfaces of a combined pipe system, corrosion problems can occur due to the different potential of these materials.

Are red copper press fittings with red FKM ring suitable for steam?

  • The red copper press fittings are suitable for high temperature environments up to 200°C. If used for steam, however, the maximum tolerated temperature is lower; 150°C at maximum. If you require a fitting for steam installed in a system with working temperatures in excess of 150°C, please contact our sales team: verkoop@bonfix.nl
